Harvey V. Chavez, 67, of Loving, New Mexico passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at his home. Harvey was born on March 3, 1953, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Victoriano and Angelita Chavez.

Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Later, the family will have private services and interment at Loving Cemetery Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harvey, Dad, Son, Brother, Grandpa, Cunado, Primo, Uncle Harv, Nino, Amigo, Big Guy, Big Worm & Chief, if you knew Harvey you probably called him by one of these names.

Harvey was preceded in death by his older brother Victor Chavez & his little sister Marina Parraz, by his grandparents Ramon & Del­fina Vera, whom were Mom & Dad to him. And also by his mother Angelita Parraz & step-father Franke.

He is survived by his wife Virginia, children Stacy, Bo & Derek Chavez, grandson Seth Rodriguez, granddaughter BreAna Chavez & 2 great granddaughters, Jayde Lynne & Amari Ann Rodriguez. Sisters Liz Sapien (Claude), Peggy Campos (Alfonso), & Bea Parraz. Brothers Ray Parraz (Angie) & Ruben Parraz. Numerous nieces & nephews & several god children. Pallbearers are Bo Chavez, Derek Chavez, Ray Gonzalez, Roland Gonzalez, Reggie Gonzalez, Mon Gonzalez, Alvaro Hernandez and Junior Hernandez.

Harvey had a big heart & an even bigger voice. He never met a stranger. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Big Guy!
