Connie V. Ramoz

Consuelo “Connie” V. Ramoz, 73, of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on January 23, 2021. Connie was born on March 17, 1947, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Ramona Salcido and Agustin Villarreal.

Private interment will be held at Carlsbad Cemetery Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is overseeing her arrangements.

Connie grew up in Carlsbad and went to St. Francis Catholic School. Later she met and married her husband, Santiago Ramoz. Connie loved her plants, shopping at the Cat’s Meow Thrift store and loved her birds and cats. She loved to bake peanut brittle and apple cakes. In our eyes she was Wonder Woman, strong and faithful loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona Salcido; father Agustin Villarreal; husband, Santiago Ramoz; sons, Mario Ramoz, Santiago Ramoz, and Raymond Ramoz; sister Victoria McIntire and brother, Gilbert Nava.

Connie is survived by her granddaughter’s Darcel Olayo of Port Hueneme, CA, Ashley Ramoz of Tucson, AZ, Maria Trevino of Carlsbad, NM, Marissa Ramoz of Hobbs, NM, grandsons, Nicholas Ramoz of Phoenix, AZ and Michael Ramoz of Carlsbad, NM.

Nana, thank you for the gift of love. Now you are sharing it up above. You had many things to say, all in a caring way. You always saw good in everyone, no matter what they had done. You were always the one we could all lean on. Even though it must have felt like a ton. You were always the strength of the family. Now we must let you rest calmly. We say goodbye, as tears roll down our eyes. I know your place in heaven has a million-dollar view. You are telling God, “I need to keep an eye on a few.” I know you will always be in our hearts and minds. So, Nana, I must go, but I’ll never forget you’re one of a kind laugh and smile. Today and tomorrow, my whole life through, I will always love and cherish you.
