Zona Binyon

Zona Binyon, 92, of West Cherry Lane, Carlsbad, New Mexcio, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Goodlife Assisted Living. Local visitation will be 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Oakwood Cemetery, Paris, Arkansas. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements. Zona Binyon was born November 13, 1919 in Paris, Arkansas to Calvin and Vesta (Graham) Woods. She graduated from high school in Ratcliff, Arkansas. After graduation she moved to California and went to beauty school. Zona married Bernard Binyon on September 21, 1941. She worked as a beautician over 10 years. Zona moved to Oklahoma after Bernard died and worked in real estate. She moved to Carlsbad in 1982. Zona was a member of the Baptist church. She enjoyed oil painting and was the best aunt ever. Zona truly loved all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Binyon; sister, Inez Haney; nephew, David Nichols and great-nephew, Jack Nichols. Survivors are two nephews: Johnny Nichols, Oneal Nichols; niece, Judy Carter; three great nephews: Jon Nichols, Jamie Nichols, Max Nichols and great-nieces: Ashley Nichols, Rachel Nichols, Adrienne Nichols, Loren Medley and Summer Medley.
