Zelma M. Dillard Sandlin, 93, of N. Thomas St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 28, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation will be Monday, May 2, 2011, from 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Johnson and Gary Dillard officiating.
Interment will take place Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Mt. View Cemetery, San Bernardino, California.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Zelma M. Dillard Sandlin was born March 17, 1918 in Quail, Texas to Joseph Owen Wood and Stella Myrtle (Blevins) Wood. She met and married Farris Dillard in 1940, he passed away in 1973. Zelma moved to Carlsbad in 1996 to be with her son John, daughter-in-law Celia and family, she met and married Willard Sandlin in 1998, he passed away in 2001. Zelma was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by both husbands and brother in-law A. R. Dillard.
Survivors include son John D. Dillard and wife, Celia of Carlsbad, NM; daughter Barbara K. McCallon and husband, Howard of Sierra Madre, CA; four granddaughters Zelma Lopez and husband, Albert of Carlsbad, NM, Laura Hanny and husband, Archie of California, Crystal Welch and husband, Alvin of Pennsylvania and Lyra Clark and husband Colin of Owings, MD; 13 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister Melba Dillard of Hereford, TX; nephew ; Gary Dillard of Pagosa Springs, CO; niece; Glenda Tiner of Baytown, TX.
