Zachary Clayton Rogers, 31, formally of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, in Midland, TX. Zachary was born on February 13, 1993, in Carlsbad, NM to Jerry and Melissa Rogers.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor David Rogers officiating.
Zachary grew up having a love for music, cars, and science. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2011, where he enjoyed playing the trumpet with the CHS band. Zachary was charismatic, loving, and social in all aspects of his life, and made friends with everyone he met. After high school, he married Sidney Light, and they started a family together having two boys. They owned and managed the Fiesta Drive Inn Theater for several years, where Zachary found a love for film and cinematography. Zachary loved spending time with his boys, taking them to Disney, drag car races, and car shows. He also enjoyed taking his flying lessons, listening to EDM, and learning about astronomy. Zachary had survived a few rough patches in his life, that he battled to overcome. His family goals gave him motivation to live a clean and sober life. He was currently working for Water Fleet, and actively working towards future goals. Zachary lived life to the fullest, and he will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Zachary was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Emery Rogers; maternal great grandparents: Kenneth and Jewel Dodrill, Arthur J. Price, and Dorothy Terry; uncle, Tommy Dodson; and cousin, Kellie White.
Zachary is survived by his two sons: Whyett Thayer Rogers and Rhylee Neal Rogers of Conroe, TX; parents: Jerry and Melissa Rogers of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Jaryd Rogers of Carlsbad, NM; paternal grandmother, Wanda Rogers of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandparents, David and Paula Dodrill of Carlsbad, NM; immediate cousins: Darah and Aaron Turner, Nichole Adams, and Cade Russell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
