Yolanda G. "Yoli" Martinez, 53, of North Second Street, Carlsbad, NM passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at home. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2012, 7:30 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca St. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2012, 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Yolanda G. "Yoli" Martinez was born July 18, 1958 in Carlsbad, NM to Jose A. and Belma (Gomez) Martinez. She was known for her wonderful cooking and open heart. Yoli's hobbies were her love for cooking, baking, listening to music, interior decorating, word search puzzles, card games and the great outdoors. Her love for her family and friends will never be forgotten and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose A. Martinez; brothers: Sammy Martinez, Adon "Don" Martinez and Danny Martinez; sisters: Rose Marie "Spike" Martinez and Socorro "Soakie" Martinez. Survivors include her mother, Belma G. Martinez of Carlsbad; siblings: Ricky Martinez and wife, Kim, Helen Martinez, Joe Martinez, David Martinez and wife, Sara, Johnny Martinez and Sophie Gonzalez and husband, Abe all of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom loved her dearly.
