William "Spud" Sexton, 99, of South Elm Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his daughter's home.
There will be no visitaiton, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2014, 5:30 PM, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A private family interment will be in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
William "Spud" Sexton was born March 31, 1915 in Crumpler, West Virginia to Win and Leona (Thompson) Sexton. He married Nell Epling on February 10, 1940. Spud served in the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Carlsbad in 1958 and went to work in the potash mines where he retired from AMAX after 20 years. Spud dearly loved his neighbors, who were so special to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nell Sexton; four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are his daughter, Tammy Kaylor and husband, Dale of Loving, NM; son, Don Sexton and wife, Keri of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren, Cary Kaylor and wife, Rachael, Jeremi Adams and Jade Guarnere; 3 great-grandaughters, 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
