Obituary
William Shane Fitzgerald passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Carlsbad. Born on March 16, 1996 in Carlsbad, Shane was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, boyfriend, and, most of all, father.
In the short 23 years he graced this earth, Shane was always known as the life of the party, one devoted to making others laugh, and continuously full of surprises. In his zestful spirit, Shane was also one who was quick to say it like it is and laugh while saying it. He was filled with energy and vitality and was a proud, loving father to his young son, Troy. Above all, Shane deeply loved his parents.
Shane graduated from Youth Challenge in 2013. He worked for Select Energy where he could be seen hard at work almost every single day. In addition, as a beloved child of God with a faith in Jesus Christ, Shane attended Loving Baptist Church.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents Johnnie R. and William Howard Fitzgerald, and Ronald Rogge; great-grandparents, Oliver and Dovie Fitzgerald, Leroy and Erma Jean Rogge, and William Frank and Gertrude Smith, as well as an uncle, Berry Hays.
He is survived by his beloved son, William Troy Fitzgerald and Troys mother Yolanda Marquez; his parents Ollie and Kristi Fitzgerald; sister, Tiffiney Fitzgerald; grandmother, Judy Shelton; nieces, Kallie Fitzgerald and Ryleigh Ramos; nephew, Joah Ramos; and cousins Joshua Smith, Jonathan McIlwee, Chad Hays, Corey Hays, Sadie Glosson, Lexus Hays, Cohen Smith and Paityn Smith. Shane is the nephew of Kim and Dave Rogers, Kathy and Terry Hays, Tanya Hayes and Kelly and Lonnie Smith. In addition, Shane has a vast extended family and numerous friends who love him. There is a viewing on Friday July 26, 2019 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements, and funeral services will be held at Dayspring Fellowship, 411 S. Olive St, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:00 am. Rev. Jimmy Tarvin and Rev. Russell Hoksbergen will be officiating. Final interment to be held in Aspermont, Texas.
