William Ellis "Buddy" Hall of Missouri Street, Carlsbad, NM, got his wings on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Bill was born in Carlsbad at the St. Francis Hospital to Floyd E. and Bettye J. Hall on August 9, 1951. He was a descendant of Capt. John Shattuck.
Bill fought a good fight with Type 1 Diabetes and Lewy Body Dementia thanks to his wife, Shamrock, and later Pam and the rest of the staff of Golden Services Home Health and Hospice.
Bill worked for Lucky Stores in California for 30 years. He was a union organizer, backroom receiver and head checker. It was at Lucky's he met his wonderful wife, Shamrock. They moved back to Carlsbad when Bill retired in 2002. Bill enjoyed going to church, his daily nap with "Duke", Diet Coke and just being with Shamrock.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; stepdad, Lomaye "Chips" Hurley and aunt, Barbara Watts. Bill is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shamrock Hall; daughter, Sherry Redding and husband, Billy of Pensacola, Florida; sons: Robert Faith and wife, Lora of Alamogordo, NM, Kurt Hall and wife, Penny of Washougal, Washington, Joshua Hall of Vancouver, Washington, Brian Lackey and wife, Heather of San Francisco, California; brother, Steven Ray Hall of Carlsbad; aunt, Norma Rogers of Oklahoma; uncle, Bill Jr. and wife, Barbara of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his pal, "Duke" and special friend, June Lee of Carlsbad, NM.
Bill, you were a wonderful husband, my best friend and the greatest dad. You won. You have all your memories back and can walk the streets of gold! Vaya con Dios!
