Waylan Cox

Waylan Cox, 52, of Spruill Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his home. There will be no visitation, cremation will take place. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Waylon Cox was born January 24, 1962 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to James Willard and Ruby Jo (Davis) Cox. He graduated from Goddard High School in Roswell. Waylan worked for the National Parks Service early in his career and later in the oil field. Most recently he was working for CARC, Inc. Waylan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Cox. Survivors are daughter, JaDean Cox of Placerville, CA; son, Zachary Cox of Placerville, CA; mother, Ruby Jo Cox of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Arland Cox and wife, Stacy of Rocky Arroyo, NM, Alan Cox and wife, Renee of Del Rio, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
