Wauzell L. Gill

Wauzell L. Gill, 92, of North Lake Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her home. There will be no public visitation a Graveside Service is scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Carlsbad Cemetery with Bob Lewis officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Wauzell L. Gill was born on August 26, 1920, in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma to Arch and Linnie (Fellows) Phillips. She married Frank P. Gill in 1961, in Reno, Nevada. Wauzell enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and gardening. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband. Wauzell was a great seamstress. She would sew her daughters dresses. Wauzell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank P. Gills; grandson, Theron Hessman; brother, Arch Phillips, Jr.; and sisters: LaVerne Criswell and Thelma Phillips. Survivors are her daughters: Fern Hessman of Paden, Oklahoma, Marilyn Lewis and husband, Bob of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Milton Phillips and wife, Eleanor of West Sacramento, CA; sister, Velma Howdeshell of Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Eric Hessman and wife, Amy, Derrick Hessman and wife, Amy, Laura Slayton and husband, Lorin, Kevin Lewis, Lisa Lewis, Sherry Marshall and husband, Clarence, Kimberly Johnson; 21 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
