Wanda L. Redman, 86, of La Vina Circle, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 1, 2015 at Providence Memorial Hospital.
There will be no visitation cremation has taken place.
A private interment will take place in the First United Methodist Church Columbarium, Carlsbad, NM.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Wanda L. Redman was born April 7, 1928 in Norman, Arkansas to W.T. and Verna (Flatte) Witherspoon. She graduated from Mena High School in Mena Arkansas. Wanda later attended Oklahoma State University, Henderson State University, and graduated from Western New Mexico University. She married the love of her life John Redman on December 26, 1947. She taught science at Eisenhower middle school and retired in 1989. Wanda was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.T. and Verna (Flatte) Redman, and sister in law Judy Witherspoon. Survivors are her husband, John Redman of Carlsbad, NM; son, Jay Redman and wife Chantille of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Jill Yarbro of Alpine, TX; and brother, Jimmy Witherspoon of Hobbs, NM grandchildren: Allie Redman, of Carlsbad, NM; Adam Yarbro of Las Cruses, NM and great grandchildren: Heaven Yarbro and Vann Yarbro.
