Wanda Rauch, 88 passed away on Tuesday, January 24th in Carlsbad, NM. She was born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma on January 1, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Lillian Morris. She moved to Carlsbad, NM when she was fourteen years old with her parents. Mrs. Rauch worked as a florist for Grigg's Flower Shop on Canal Street for many years. Before working at Grigg's she had her own florist shop in Artesia, New Mexico which was called A Tu. Mrs. Rauch was active in the Senior Citizens Center when she was younger, and participated in the Senior Olympics line dancing. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Carlsbad, and regularly attended Standpipe Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Jack B. Rauch; two brothers: Jim Morris, Bill Morris; two grandsons: Jack Rauch and James Rauch. The mother of four children, she is survived by Linda Rauch and husband, Rick Hewitt of Austin, TX, David Rauch and wife, Phyllis of Carlsbad, NM, James Rauch of New Mexico, Dr. John P. Rauch and wife, Janet of Artesia, NM; five grandsons: Danny Rauch, Dustin Rauch, Cody Rauch, David Craig and Scott Rauch; two granddaughters: Angela Rauch, Jenette Navarette; seven great grandchildren: Alexis, Jonny, Christopher, Heather, Kevin, James, Nikki and one great-great- granddaughter, Avriella; nephews: George Wesley Rauch, Michael Morris, Bill Morris, Kelly Morris and niece Julie Morris. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Price officiating. Private burial will be in Sunset Gardens at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
