Wanda Moore

Wanda Moore, 87, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2013, 10:00 AM, at La Huerta Baptist Church with Pastor Steven W. Goings officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Wanda Moore was born on October 20, 1925, in Booneville, Arkansas to Biven Earl and Danna Idell (Bobbitt) Sharp. On September 6, 1944, she married Morgan Moore. In 1945, they moved to Carlsbad. She volunteered at CARC Thrift store and the Landsun auxiliary. Wanda was an active member of La Huerta Baptist Church until she moved to Landsun. She enjoyed playing bingo at Landsun, quilting, painting and handcrafts. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morgan Moore in 1988; son, Arthur "Artie" Moore; brothers: V.B. Sharp, Veston Sharp and Murlon Sharp. Survivors are her daughter, Glenna Sloan and husband, Paul of Albany, Oregon; son, Morgan "Earl" Moore of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Susan Eathorne and husband, Mike of Douglas, Wyoming, Crystal Lutton and husband, Shane of Salem, Oregon, Danna Moore, Arthena Jones and husband, Allen, Kevin Moore and wife, Stacey, all of Big Spring, Texas, Elizabeth Moore, Brandon Moore, and Rhiannon Moore all of Carlsbad, NM; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lula Dell Bonner of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Linda Gail Cliburn of Andalusia, Alabama; brothers: Kenny Sharp and wife, Jean Ann of Chandler, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Sharp and wife, Cynthia of Porter, Texas. Pallbearers will be Kevin Moore, Brandon Moore, Allen Jones, Paul Sloan, Jim Smith and Jimmy Sharp. Memorial contributions may be made to La Huerta Baptist Church, 107 W.
