Virginia Lusta Lucas

Virginia Lusta Lucas, 70, of Jewel Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Per her wishes, cremation will take place. A family gathering will be held in Daytona Beach, Florida at a later time. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Virginia Lusta Lucas was born October 5, 1941 in Ft. Bening, Georgia to Jack William and Marie Myrtle (Ward) Connell, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy DeFord and one sister, Lois Robertson. Survivors are three daughters: Tona Shultz and husband, Bill of Milwaukee, WI, Tina DeFord of Midland, TX, Evie Strickland and husband, Allen of Carlsbad, NM; son, David Joziaties and wife, Dawn of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Worel of Florida and numerous other family members.
