Virginia T. Juarez, 74, of W. Tampico Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away June 1, 2023 at Carlsbad Medical Center.  Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David W. Rogers officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia was born September 23, 1948 in Carlsbad, NM to Benito and Zulema (Terrazas) Juarez.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1967.  Virginia went to work for the State of New Mexico, retiring as a service specialist after 27 years of service in 2002.  She served on the board at Head Start.  Virginia enjoyed traveling, restaurants, reading and going to the casinos.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Cecelia T. Juarez, Brenda J. Hart, Dorothy T. Juarez, and Lorraine J. White; brothers: Jimmie Munoz, Benito M. Juarez, Jr., and Thomas T. Juarez.

Survivors are her daughter, Sherry T. Juarez; brothers and sisters: Elizabeth T. Juarez, Mariano T. Juarez and wife, Toni, Francisco T. Juarez, Dibrell T. Juarez and wife, Lety, Linda Claffey, Olga T. Juarez, Tina Y. Juarez; brother-in-law, Tom White; niece, Mona White; nephew, Kendal White and numerous other nieces and nephews; adopted daughter, Valerie O. Cole.

Pallbearers will be Ervie Ornelas, Rudy Melendrez, Valerie O. Cole, Dorie Fannin, Eloy Lopez, Chris Casteneda and honorary pallbearers are Francisco T. Juarez, Tom L. White and Kevin Burns. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish and join the family following the committal service at Central Christian Church, 305 N. Oak St.
