Virginia Johnson

Mrs. Virginia Johnson, 83, quietly went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2009 in Carlsbad, NM. A graveside service will be held in her memory at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 29 Hwy, Anderson, Friday, July 31, 2009 at 10:00 am. Ministers, David Paher and Phillip Johnson will be officiating. Virginia had been a resident of 307 Beaty Square, Anderson, SC for approximately fifty years before moving to be with her son in 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Virginia was a member of the Westside Church of Christ and was part of the workforce of Anderson for many years, having worked for Grants, Sky City, and then Walmart. She loved her city and missed it greatly. Virginia is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Sherry Johnson of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren - Philena Paher and her husband, David of Andalusia, AL; Jennifer Carter; Caitlin Johnson and Dylan Johnson; all of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandchildren; Tyler Perry, Neleah Paher and Mia Carter. Her beloved sister, Joann Brown and nephew Noah Brown, both of Hartwell, GA; and her niece, Bonnie Brown of Raleigh, NC. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil W. Johnson; her parents, Lev and Naomi Hembree; her great-grandchildren, David Elijah Paher and Colvin Carter, Jr.; and her brother-in-law C.L. Brown and nephew, Van Brown. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
