Vince A. Harper

Vince A. Harper, 55, of N Thomas St, Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Vince was born on August 5, 1965, in Artesia, NM to Archie Harper and Sonja (Matthews) Harper.

Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow, and a celebration of life will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the pavilion next to the Beach Bandshell. Food and music will be provided, so bring a chair and join Vince's family in celebrating his life.

Vince played all kinds of sports growing up, and was very athletic. He had a love for the outdoors from a young age, and was known to have a green thumb. He was an avid dancer and was always up for a good time and to karaoke. Loved spending time with his children, and when they were growing up, their house was always the spot for all the neighborhood kids to come play and ride bikes. Vince will be remembered by many as Coach. Although his life ended too short, the memories he made with his loved ones will be cherished and never forgotten.

Vince was preceded in death by his father, Archie Harper; and mother, Sonja (Matthews) Harper.

Vince is survived by his daughter, Ashlyn Harper and Jason Elliott from Denver, CO; son, Austin Harper of Carlsbad, NM; son, Matthew Harper and wife, Brynda of Tolar, TX; daughter, Kelsey Hudson and husband, Drew of Tolar, TX; daughter, Sidney Harper of Carlsbad, NM; son, Haden Harper of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren: Zoey Elliott, Ezra Elliott, Arlie Elliott, Brielle Harper, Garrett Harper, Cinch Barton, Kage Novak, Coy Novak, and Teagan Hudson; brother, Trent Harper and wife, Michelle of Carlsbad, NM; two nieces: Malerie Harper and Hannah Harper; nephew, Zachary Harper; and great niece, Kaylee Nesbit.
