Victoria "Vicki" Brosky

Victoria "Vicki" Brosky, 96, former resident, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at La Villa Assisted Living in Roswell, NM. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Communion Service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Dominguez officiating. A Vigil is scheduled for 6:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Cyprian Uline, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Victoria "Vicki" Brosky was born March 27, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan to Paul and Anna (Bujnowski) Sekula. She married John E. Brosky on November 30, 1940 and they were married for 72 years. The family moved to Carlsbad in 1956. Vicki was a homemaker, caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking. Vicki was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was always the first person there to help someone during difficult times and attended mass daily. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by three daughters: Judith Macdonald and husband, Dennis of Arlington, VA, Jean McKee and husband, Russ of Artesia, NM, Jo Ann Hedderman and husband, Richard of The Woodlands, TX, son, John E. Brosky, Jr. and wife, Susan of Pryor, OK; grandchildren: Jeanne Rigdon Dowdell of Norfolk, VA, Denise Rigdon Benson of Hobbs, NM, Floyd Birney "Skip" Rigdon, II of Artesia, NM, Richard Hedderman of The Woodlands, TX, Dr. Jason Hedderman of Columbia, MO, Brendon Brosky, Logan Brosky, Cameron Brosky all of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren: Robyn Rose Polinice and Eric Michael Roberts of Norfolk, VA, Kyle Ray Jackson of Midland, TX; great-great-grandchildren: Makayla, Vincent and Madison Polinice, Derian and Cayden Roberts, Ryer, Rose, Reed, Ruth Hedderman, Abigail, Kenton, Samson Brosky, Hunter Murphy; brother, Walt Sekula and wife, Bernie of Pennsylvania and sister, Julie Kosempa and husband, John of Pennsylvania.
