Vera Weston

Vera Weston, 83, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 27, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 11:00 am, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Prairie Haven Cemetery, Hobbs., New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Vera Weston was born September 3, 1926 in Vera, Texas to Alexander and May (Russell) Hooser. She married Lynn Weston on August 25, 1945 in Roswell, NM. They moved to Hobbs in 1946 where she raised her family. Vera relocated to Carlsbad in 2001. She enjoyed oil painting and crocheting. Vera was a member of the Primative Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Z. Weston and son, Paul Ray Weston. Survivors include her four children: Earl Weston and wife Lavada of Big Spring, TX, Edna Herring of Alice, TX, Gary Weston and wife Ann of Menifee, CA, Sharon Weston of Carlsbad, NM; nine grandchildren: Earl Weston, Jr., Renee Armstrong, James Lynn Weston, James Langford, Robert Langford, Gary Weston, Jr., Ricky Weston, Jacque Ballew and Jared Chambless; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Louise Ward of Catoosa, OK and Lela Hooser of Roswell, NM. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ballew, Jared Chambless, Earl Weston, Gary Weston, Gary Weston, Jr. and Ricky Weston. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
