Vena "Nana" Norrid

Venie Lue “Vena or Nana” Norrid, 82, passed away October 6th, 2021, at her home.

Nana was born to Andrew and Agnes Johnson on February 13, 1939. She retired from a successful career as a beautician.

Nana was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sherwood “Woody” Norrid; daughter, Karen Rainwater; brothers Hoyt Dean, DW, AJ and Francis Johnson;

Nana is survived by her children, Randy Norrid and Tina deMoss; sister, Lela Hale and spouse Pete; brother, Jay Johnson and spouse Dorothy; multiple nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Woody Mack Rainwater, Brandy Norrid, Shay Chapman, Brady Carver, Robert Carver; great grandchildren, Colton Chadwick, Robert Heard, Phoenix Lucas, Kaiya, Ava, and Emma Chapman.

Nana was a devout Christian, church member, and devoted mother and grandmother who loved her children more than anything in this world. She dedicated her life to her children. That motherly love extended to everyone she met. Her generosity and affection touched every element of the human spirit. If you knew her, you were a better person for it.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at TLC Home Health and Hospice, particularly Robin Rhodes and Cristina Frias, for their outstanding care and love they showed to Nana in her final years.

Services for Nana will be October 23, 2021, at 10 am, at Carlsbad Cemetery.
