Valerie Tschappler Hett

Valerie Tschappler Hett, wife of David Hett and daughter of Sam and Amy Tschappler, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Valerie leaves behind her husband, David Hett; 3 siblings: Herb Tschappler, Tom Tschappler, and Margaret Kistler; 2 daughters: Laura Derrickson and Kerry McCrory and 2 grandchildren: Brendan & Alex Derrickson as well as many other loved ones. Valerie was known for her ability to truly listen to each person, her kindness, and an incredibly bright smile that lit up her eyes, and - even as she grew ill- made those around her smile as well. Valerie's gentle strength, and quiet intensity provided a support to her family that will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Please join us for services on Thursday April 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Landjur Abukusumo officiating. Interment in Carlsbad Cemetery will follow the service.
