Valentin Barrera, Jr.

Valentin Barrera, Jr. was born to Valentin and Juanita (Mirelez) Barrera August 10, 1968 in Dimmitt, Texas.  He left this earth May 17, 2023 to meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Valentin did not lose his battle with cancer because he never stopped fighting and provided us with courage and strength. He was a warrior in body, spirit and faith.

Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at UMC of Lubbock, Texas, especially Dr. Al-Tamimi and TLC Hospice of Carlsbad, NM that provided care and support.

Valentin was preceded into heaven and eternity by his mother, Juanita Mirelez; father, Valentin Barrera; maternal grandmother, Narcisa Hernandez; maternal grandfather, Fernando Hernandez; paternal grandmother, Francisca Barrera; paternal grandfather, Felipe Barrera; sister, Estella Barrera.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Barrera of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Michael Jeremy Barrera of Ft. Worth, Texas, Aaron Val Barrera of Ft. Worth, Texas; bonus children: Valerie Villareal of Lubbock, Texas, Uriah Villareal of Amarillo, Texas, Omar Catano of Hereford, Texas; sister, Lyda Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas; brothers: Victor Barrera of Austin, Texas, Richard Guzman of Amarillo, Texas, Andy Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas; many nieces, nephews, loving cousins, aunts, uncles and a multitude of priceless friends.
