Valente A. Munoz, 62, of North Roberson Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 19, 2010. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Prayer Service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 6:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Saul Rocha officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Valente A. Munoz was born May 21, 1947 in Bandares, Mexico to Geramino R. and Elisa (Arras) Munoz. He worked in the farming industry and one of his greatest passions was raising roosters and other farm animals. He was preceded in death by his father, Geramino R. Munoz; sister, Guadalupe M. Granados and brother, Emido A. Munoz. Survivors include: mother; Elisa A. Munoz of Carlsbad, NM; five children: Carol Munoz of Carlsbad, NM, Nancy M. Gibbons and husband, Keith of Anchorage, Alaska, Gloria Munoz and John Maldonado of Carlsbad, NM, Jaime E. Munoz of Carlsbad, NM and Lisa Munoz of Scottville, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Sevrano A. Munoz and wife, Olivia of Roswell, NM, Demetrio A. Munoz of Clayton, NM, Eva M. Dominguez of Otis, NM, Gloria M. Pena and husband, Manuel of Carlsbad, NM, Felix A. Munoz and wife, Adela of Carlsbad, NM, and Jovita M. Carson and husband, Jimmy of Austin, TX and numerous other family members. Pallbearers will be Jaime E. Munoz, Ernest M. Trevino, Eric L. Trevino, Juan A. Munoz, Demetrio "Jr." Munoz and Reymundo M.
