Truman H. Boyd, 74, of Standpipe Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Truman H. Boyd was born July 8, 1935 in De Kalb, TX to Edgar and Willie (Williams) Boyd. He moved to Carlsbad as a young boy and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1954. Truman went to work for Safeway Grocery Store in 1952 in Carlsbad and later moved to Artesia as a meat cutter in the butcher department. He later moved to El Paso to follow his craft and then to Tempe Arizona. He retired in 1996. Due to bad health he returned to Carlsbad in 2006 for his sisters to take care of him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Melvin Boyd and sister, Louise Dearing. The family would like to thank all the nurses in ICU and the 3rd floor nurses and staff for the love and kindness shown towards Truman while in Carlsbad Medical Center. Their compassion and love went beyond a job well done. A special thanks to Dr. Latiff and Dr. Alencar and their nurses and staff. Their care and love made a difference to Truman and his caregivers and family.
He is survived by four sons: Tony Boyd and wife, Wilma, Terry Boyd, Roger Boyd, Michael Boyd and wife, Joy; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Alton Boyd and wife, Kitsy, Donal Boyd and wife, Janice, Gary Boyd and wife, Kathy; five sisters: Edith Jowers and husband, Earnest, Wanda Galloway, Doris Harrison and husband, Terry, Helen McBee and husband, Terrell, Ilene Holland and husband, Frank and many nieces and nephews.
