Troy D. Hensley, 72, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. Troy was born on November 10, 1947, in Socorro, NM to Ford and Lillie Hensley.
Cremation has taken place, and a joint memorial service with his wife has been scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, February 10, 2023, at Landmark Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis McKinley officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Troy met the love of his life, Georgia Muncy in high school, and they got married on June 3, 1965. They then started their family, and moved around New Mexico and Colorado has he continued working in the copper mines. They finally settled in Carlsbad in 1986, and he began working as a supervisor for the NM State Highway Department until he retired in 2012. Troy had a strong work ethic, and he always did everything to provide and support his family. He was a jack of all trades, being able to pick up skills quickly. Troy enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and camping, but his number one love was his family. He cherished every moment with them, and made memories to last a life time. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Ford Hensley; mother, Lillie (Dunn) Hensley; and five siblings: Thelma Hensley, Fordie Hensley, James Hensley Jessie Prather, and Georgia Culbertson.
