Travis Cline, 85, of Parker St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Kent officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Travis Cline was born on October 4, 1928, in Borger, Texas to Luther Earl and Vera (Hammond) Cline. He served in the Navy and retired after 20 years of service. Travis married Glenda Brown July 29, 1954 in Payette Idaho. They moved to Carlsbad in 1972 and it has been their home since. Travis served as a commander at the VFW 8703 for 8 years. He loved his grandkids. Travis was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons: Ricky Dean Howard, Buddy James Heghie, Jackie Lynn Hellyer; brother, Corky Cline and sister, Faye Wass. Survivors are his wife, Glenda Cline of Carlsbad, NM; children:Travis W. Cline and wife, Ethel of Dallas, Oregon, Rudy Cline of Edna, Texas, Arnold Cline of Carlsbad, NM, Cheryl Howard and husband, Ricky of Del Rio, Texas, Richard Cline of Fort Stockton, Texas, Darrell Cline and wife, Ann of Carlsbad, NM, Jerry Cline of Midland, Texas, Kim Weyerman of Carlsbad, NM; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; sisters: Donnie Eckman of Woodland, Washington and Helen Jo Hunt of Ceres California. Pallbearers will be Micheal Weyerman, Trusten Weyerman, Jack Cline, Nick Howard, Kenny Howard, Dustin Cline, Bryan Cline and Kyle Cline. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Hunke, Tristan Wheeler, Cody Baker and Jason Boss. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
