Tracye Baker

Tracye Baker, 57, of Prospect Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her home. Tracye was born on May 11, 1963, in Slaton, Texas to Billy and Judy Baker.

Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service is scheduled for 4:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Loving Cemetery in Loving, NM with Jimmy Ryan officiating. Following interment, there will be a celebration of life at 3303 Prospect St. in Carlsbad.

Tracye was born in Slaton, TX and then grew up in Loving, NM. After high school, she moved to Louisiana where she had her son Cody. They made their way back to New Mexico in 1998 and lived in Loving then Carlsbad until her passing. Tracye was a kind and loving person who was always willing to help others in need. She was adored by her friends, family, and her many dogs over the years, who she loved spending time with. Tracye enjoyed gardening and traveling, and loved going to national parks to see the different wildlife. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Tracye was preceded in death by her father, Billy Baker; mother, Judy Baker; and brother Roy Lee Baker.
Tracye is survived by her son, Cody Baker of Carlsbad, NM; two grandchildren: Kayleigh Baker and Alexander Baker; sister, Tonye Baker-Powell and husband, Gary of Loving, NM; several cousins; and best friend, Renee Kirby.
