Tommy "Tom" E. Surface

Tommy "Tom" E. Surface, 70, of Mountain Shadow Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at his home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Tommy "Tom" E. Surface was born December 12, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia to Vernon G. and Julia Ann (Hickman) Surface. He married Debra Corder September 26, 1992 in Lubbock, TX. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Marine. Tom was very athletic. He had a love for all sports especially baseball and golf. Tom loved his dogs and his dogs loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon B. Surface; mother, Julia Ann Pauley; brother, Robert Russell Pauley and grandmother, Ethel Surface. Survivors are his wife, Debbie Surface of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Tonya Keene and husband, Everett of West Monroe, Louisiana, Tisha Dittus and husband, Chris of Carson, Iowa; two step-sons: Butch Ray and wife, Becky of Carlsbad, NM, Chris Ray of Springfield, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and brother, Dwight Pauley of Charleston, West Virginia.
