Tom "Postal" Dugas, 55, of Mountain View Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 6, 2011 at his home. Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, August 11, 2011, 4:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Veilleux officiating. A celebration of Tom's life will continue at the Ocotillo Sports Bar and Grill following the memorial service. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Thomas Edward Dugas was born April 5, 1956 in Carlsbad, NM to Shelby and Phyllis (Donnelly) Dugas. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1974. Tom was involved with the Thunderbird Dancers while in high school and loved the outdoors. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1974 to 1994, where he was a marksmanship instructor. Tom was a distinguished pistol shooter. Following his military career he went to work at the postal service where he worked for 16 years. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1558 and the Brotherhood of 74. Tom's passion was hiking for arrowheads, shooting, golfing and riding motorcycles. He was preceded by his father Shelby Dugas. Survivors include his wife, Susie Martinez Dugas; mother: Phyllis Dugas; daughters: Jennifer Williams and husband Ace of Lubbock, TX, Alissa Holloway and husband, Matt of Lubbock, TX, Amanda Kinnibrugh and husband, Cody of Artesia, NM, Holly Jones of Carlsbad, NM; son: Joshua Jones of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Shelby Williams of Lubbock, TX, Ryleigh Kinnibrugh of Artesia, NM; brothers: Robert Dugas and wife, Brenda of Carlsbad, NM, Brad Dugas and wife, Debbie of New Braunfels, TX, Brian Dugas and wife, Janet of Carlsbad, NM; cousin: Bill "Bar" Donley of Daphne, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
