Tim was born April 12, 1958, in Carlsbad, NM, to Jerry and Sharon (Matney) Click. He was the eldest of 4 siblings. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1976 and participated in CHS wrestling and football. He enrolled at the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship to pursue his education and continue his love of football, playing for the Lobos. On October 29, 1988, he married the love of his life, Kimberly Hyden Click. Tim worked for the county and City of Carlsbad until retirement in 2007 and started his own business, Click’s Gun Supply, for 17 years. Tim was an outstanding firearm manufacturer. Custom bolt action rifles were his specialty, along with gunsmithing. Kim joined in the business with him in 2014 and together they made a great team.

Tim enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren, and family. He enjoyed all the years of camping and 4-wheel riding in the mountains while raising his children. Tim and Kim enjoyed their special time together riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of the Carlsbad Elks Lodge #1558 for 45 years and became a lifetime member in 2024. Tim spent many years racing his top fuel dragster, funny car, and hot rods. He was a member of the Pecos Valley Speedway. Tim participated in many Highpower Rifle Silhouette and F-Class shooting competitions and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Tim was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ. The positive outlook and unwavering strength Tim upheld as he endured his lengthy battle with illness was admirable. He endured several medical issues and procedures, and he did it gracefully. He lived with dignity, courage, and an unyielding love for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Click; grandparents: Sherwood and Maxine Matney, and Roger and Irene Click; mother-in-law, Jo Hyden, and sister-in-law, Nancy Wright. Tim is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kim Hyden Click, of the family home; daughters: Shauna Rae Prater and husband, Chris, Karli Denise Click and Guye Yturralde, Kandi Danielle Bailey and husband, James; grandchildren: Collin Prater, Sarryn Prater, Beau Bailey, Scarlett Bailey, and Little Guye Yturralde; mother, Sharon Matney Click; siblings: Sherry Ellis and husband, Pat, Chunky Click and wife, JoAnn, Shannon Huber and husband, Michael; uncle, Bobby Click and wife, Paulette; father-in-law, Ross Hyden and wife, Anzhela, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim had a heart as big as his laugh, and he brought joy wherever he went. With his fun-loving spirit and adventurous nature, he was always up for trying something new and dragging a few friends along for the ride. His laughter—loud, infectious, and impossible to ignore—was a signature part of who he was, and it’ll echo in our hearts for years to come. Tim had a gift for making people feel seen and special, and he loved nothing more than captivating his audience, spinning stories and jokes that would leave everyone in stitches. To be Tim’s friend was to be part of his inner circle, a place where you were just as likely to be teased as you were to be adored. But that teasing was always wrapped in affection, because Tim loved deeply. Tim and Kim were inseparable, especially in the last decade of his life – spending every waking moment together. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandkids, whose laughter he cherished above all else. Whether he was playing games, telling stories, or simply spoiling them with love, Tim’s bond with his grandkids was something truly special. He was a grandpa who showed up in every way possible, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Tim’s presence—whether at a family gathering or just a quiet moment with friends—lit up the room. He was more than a friend; he was a constant reminder that life is better when we embrace it with open arms, a great story, and a heart full of joy. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and an unforgettable energy that will never fade – being such a memorable figure and friend to countless people along the way.

Tim’s entire family and daughters would like to recognize his wife, Kim. For the past four years, Kim was a constant, loving presence for Tim. She cared for him with incredible devotion, always putting his needs first. Her kindness, patience, and strength were a true reflection of the deep love and bond they shared. Kim’s selflessness provided comfort and support through every challenge they faced together. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Andy, Angie, Dale, Fred, Lisa, Liz, and Roberta of Lakeview Christian Hospice Care, as well as an expression of gratitude to Mike Veilleux for his constant leadership in spiritual care. Memorial donations may be made to Lakeview Christian Hospice, 1300 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM  88220.
