Thomas Saldana

Thomas Saldana of Carlsbad, passed away on March 19, 2021 in Las Cruces, NM. Thomas was a hard-working man who loved company. He was always waiting with open arms to receive his visitors. Thomas was a retired salt packager whose heart was as big as can be. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Eloisa Saldana; brother, Jerry Saldana and grandson, Lino Loya. Thomas is survived by his 28-year partner, Nila Reinhart; sister, Alice Estrada and husband, Rudy, Mary Saldana, Mary Ann Chavez, Della Martinez, Linda Matta, Erma Chavez, Siria Chavez; daughter, Erica Saldana; stepsons: Joey Chavez and wife, Ashley Davis, Ruben Hinojos and wife, Pam, Leroy Reinhart and wife, Christy, Negro; stepdaughters: Evita Rodriguez and husband, Rudy, Roxane Barrientos, Carol Reinhart; grandchildren: Marisol Saldana and Felipe Serna, Robert Saldana and Lila Bustamante, Joeruben Montes, Michael Barrientos and wife, Lila, Whitney Chavez, Fabian Ponce, Mario Loya, Albert Armijo and wife, Marissa, Jacob Chavez, Serjio Chavez, Yanelli Loya and Ramon Fuentez, Jasmine Rodriguez, Courtney Bleistein and husband, Paul, Gemini Hinojos, Gabriel Hinojos, Stephen Chavez and Jada Juarez along with 20 great-grandchildren. Thomas will be dearly missed by all his family members and always remembered with love.

Visitation will be 5 PM - 7 PM, Friday, April 2, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation is limited to 20 people in the chapel at a time and facial coverings are required. Private services will be held at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Albert Alvarez officiating. Cremation will take place following the service.
