Thomas F. Malin, Jr

Thomas F. Malin, Jr., 77, of Farris Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no visitation, cremation will take place. A Private Graveside will be held in Carlsbad Cemetery at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Thomas F. Malin, Jr. was born May 16, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Thomas F. and Esther (Ferguson) Malin, Sr. He grew up in Philadelphia. Thomas served in the Marine Corps for 6 years. For 25 years he worked for Keebler Cookie Company as an Elf in Shipping and receiving. He retired in 1999 and moved to Carlsbad. Thomas owned and operated a second hand store, "Tom's Place" and he loved the art of the deal. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings. Survivors are daughters: Michele Butler and husband, Don of Carlsbad, NM, Christie Malin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; son, William Malin of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Stephanie Payanes, Brian Schulgen, Danielle Ramirez, Veronica Schulgen, numerous other grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Haylee and Draven, Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
