Thelma "Pickle" Badgett

Thelma "Pickle" Badgett, 67, of Hidalgo Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away May 19, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Rev. David W. Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Thelma Badgett was born December 23, 1946 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Charles Thomas and Jeanetta (Collins) Hollingshad. She graduated from high school in Kellyville, OK. Thelma married J.C. Badgett on August 28, 1967 in Kellyville. She worked for Sutherlands over 15 years. JC and Thelma moved to Carlsbad in 2000. She always enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casinos and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. C. Badgett and twin brothers: Leon and Leroy Hollingshad. Survivors are her daughters, Christy Timmons of Huntsville, Alabama; son, Jeremy Badgett and wife, Heather of Carlsbad, NM; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Johnny Hollingshad, Phillip Hollingshad; sister, Aloha Duncan and a host of nieces and nephews.
