Thelma Perritt

Thelma Perritt, 94, of Pinon Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Engledow officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Thelma Perritt was born December 19, 1919 in Wolf City, Texas to William Calvin and Lucy (Roberts) Johnston. On December 2, 1938 she married Lloyd Perritt. They moved to Carlsbad in 1951. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over 20 years. Thelma was a great caregiver, always tending to those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Perritt and 5 brothers. Survivors are two daughters: Beverly Florez and husband, Pat of Carlsbad, NM, Darla Florez and husband, Fernando of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Todd Florez and wife, Sandra of Carlsbad, NM, Kevin Florez of Carlsbad, NM, Jarod Florez and wife, Cassie of Carlsbad, NM, Brady Florez of Carlsbad, NM, Scott Florez of Albuquerque, NM, Selena Florez of Carlsbad, NM, Michael Florez and wife, Clarissa of Carlsbad, NM, Jennifer Florez of Carlsbad, NM, Samantha Florez of Carlsbad, NM; great -grandchildren: Isaac and wife, Linda, Bryanna, Kylee, Brandon, Dylan, Braden, Kaylee, Presley; great-great-grandchildren: Haven and Alexa. Pallbearers will be her grandson's. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Brad Brewer and Ashley Ellis. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
