Teresa "Terry" Chavez

Teresa "Terry" Chavez, 48, of North 5th Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 8, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Friday, September 10, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2010, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Teresa "Terry" Chavez was born March 13, 1962 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to David and Rosa (Romo) Pedroza. She enjoyed helping her many friends and family members. Terry also enjoyed playing on the computer and working on arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, David Pedroza; son, Joseph Pedroza; sisters: Maria Elena Navarette, Antonia Madrid and Albina Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Esteban A. Chavez, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; five children: Veronica Ramirez and husband, Pablo of Carlsbad, NM, Gabriel Munoz and wife, Veronica of Carlsbad, NM, Christine Munoz of Carlsbad, NM, Esteban P. Chavez, III and Salina Chavia of Carlsbad, NM, Denise Chavez of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren: Kieana Munoz, Esteban David Chavez, IV, Jeramiah Chavia; mother, Rosa Pedroza; eight sisters: Tina Lara, Felicitas Acosta, Angie Sifuentes, Francisca Oliva, Lydia Fuentes, Aurora Sonora, Zenaida Soto, Beatrice Madrid and one brother, David Pedroza and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Albert Madrid, Pablo Ramirez, Chris Cerna, Esteban Chavez, III, Jose Madrid and Gabriel Munoz. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
