Tamara Hughes Ormand, 24, former resident, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
There will be no public visitation.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Guadalupe Christian Camp, Queen, NM, with Rusty Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Dog Canyon, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Tamara Hughes Ormand was born May 22, 1990 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Bradley Neil and Tracy S. (Dando) Hughes. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2008. Tamara was involved with FAA and competed in the National FAA competition. She was active in 4-H and Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) and also served as Eddy County Rodeo Queen. Tamara began dating Philip Ormand in 2009 and they married on April 4, 2013 in Silver City, NM. They were blessed with the arrival of their son, Luke Benjamin Ormond on January 16, 2014. Tamara was a dedicated, loving wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, Bradley Hughes and John and Margaret White.
Survivors are her husband, Philip Ormand of Silver City, NM; son, Luke Ormand of Silver City, NM; mother, Tracy Hughes of Carlsbad, NM; sister: Brooke Wilson and husband, Justin of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandmother, Gerry Dando of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandfather, Don Dando of Carlsbad, NM; paternal grandparents: Marion and Verna Hughes of Dog Canyon, NM; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Matt and Leanne Ormand of Silver City, NM and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers are Lynn Ballard, Billy Cox, Travis Beard, Justin Polito, Chance McMillan and Jay Powell.
