Susan "Susie" Cahill

Susan "Susie" Cahill, 58, of Lera Circle, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, April 7, 2014, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 2:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church with Mike Veilleux, message, Chaplain Terry McKean, poem, and Jan Walterscheid, eulogy. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Susan "Susie" Cahill was born July 19, 1955, in Greeley, Colorado to Rudolph and Patricia (Townsend) Woolf. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1973. Susie received her teaching degree and later received a Masters Degree in Education from ENMU plus 92 hours. She was a cheerleader through college and was a cheerleading coach when she taught. Susie was also a gymnast. She began her teaching career in Socorro, NM in 1978. She taught at numerous locations and retired from PR Leyva in 2011. On April 2, 1980, Susie married Richard Cahill. She enjoyed crafting and traveling. Susie cherished spending time with her friends. She also loved her family and spending time with them. Susie was such a loving and caring person and made friends wherever she went. Survivors are her daughters: Patricia Marie Cahill of Carlsbad, NM, Amy Jane Cahill Palmer and husband, Michael of Carlsbad, NM; son, James Cahill of Carlsbad, NM; husband, Richard Cahill of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Danae Rios, Noah Rios, Beau Palmer; parents, Dr. Rudolph and Patricia Woolf of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Janey Woolf of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Dr. Mark Woolf and wife, Norma of Las Cruces, NM, Curtis Woolf and wife, Margarita of Raton, NM, Brant Woolf and wife, Sherry of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends Pallbearers will be James Cahill, Dr. Mark Woolf, Brant Woolf, Curtis Woolf, Michael Palmer and Michael Sedillo.
