Susan "Joy" Pendergraft, 68, of South Fork Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 22, 2009 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Private family services will be held. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Susan "Joy" Pendergraft was born January 13, 1941 in Kingston, New York. "Today we mourn a sad loss; Joy Pendergraft, also known as Granny J., she was a kind soul and a great lady. She gave all to others. She was most charitable and believed in better for all in need." She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Stapleton; grandchildren: Robin, Nicole, Gabriel and Justin. She also leaves behind best family friends, Johna and Tammy and their children, Candice and Andrew. A very special friend Pete - a great Thank You we extend to him and his generous addition to our family. So many people will remember her and will miss her.
