Sue Evanoff, 65, of Muscatel Ave. passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Means officiating. Private interment will take place in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sue Evanoff was born April 20, 1952 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Kenneth Owen Tanner and Midge (Hammett) Tanner. She graduated from CHS in 1970. Sue married Tony Evanoff on September 23, 1990. In the earlier days, she worked at AMAX and most recently she was employed at Navajo where she retired several years ago. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and never turned down the opportunity to host a family BBQ which included washers, darts, and cornhole. Sue was a avid Dallas Cowboys fan and bowler. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, son: Tracy Lynn Smith, sister: Theresa Meyer, brothers: James Tanner, Pete Tanner, Wendall Tanner, father and mother in law: Sam and Esther Evanoff, sister in law: Sharon Evanoff and Carol Irby and husband, Lindsey.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Evanoff of Carlsbad, NM. ; daughters: Heidi Hodges and husband, Kevin of Lubbock, TX., Amber Whetham of Las Cruces, NM., and Amy Whetham and Christopher Morris of Las Cruces, NM., grandchildren: Cristyn Olguin, Casey Lynn Morton and husband, Marcus, Isaac Smith, Kendal Hodges, Keely Hodges, Kirsten Hodges, Aidan Whetham, and Avery Whetham, great grandchildren: Izayah Gardea, Lexa Gardea, Joseph Morton, and Thomas Morton, brother: Mike Tanner and wife, Crystial of Carlsbad, NM., and numerous nieces and nephews.
