Sue Ann Davis

Sue Ann Davis, 65, of South Maple Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Engledow officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Sue Ann Davis was born April 9, 1949 in Mountainair, New Mexico to Thomas Junior and Rose Marie (Rolin) Davis. At the age of 2, her family moved to Carlsbad. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1967. She worked for Woolworth's in Phoenix, AZ and then in Carlsbad. For 20 years she worked as a cashier and waitress at China Lantern. For a short time she also worked at Larez Restaurant. In 1999 Sue retired for medical reasons. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by parents and brother, Bradley Alan Davis. Survivors are sisters: Melva O'Neill of Las Vegas, NV, Beatrice Kay Shirley and husband, Dale of Hobbs, NM; brother, James Kenneth Davis of Carlsbad, NM; three nieces and one nephew.
