Obituary Steven Coy, 50, of Hamilton Place, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at his home. Memorial Service will be Monday, June 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM, at Oasis Church with Pastor Daved Thomas officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Steven Coy was born June 3, 1969 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Oscar Jay Coy and Irma (Wendt) Sparks. Steven was an amazing father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed more than anything spending time with his family, his son Jared Coy and 3 grandchildren. They enjoyed working on small projects around Jareds home, fixing their jet boat, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid RC airplane flyer. Steven had his golden days in high school where he excelled in caveman football and wrestling. After high school he went on to coach little caveman football, and junior league baseball. He enjoyed being a coach very much. Steven was adventurous, very fun to be around, and could always make you laugh. Most importantly Steven was a family man, a great man, he will be deeply missed. Survivors are son: Jared Coy and wife, Taylor; mother: Irma Sparks and, husband Robert; grandkids: Ryker, Kinsley, Blake Coy; best friend: Butch; brother: Robert Hathorne, Carlsbad, NM; sisters: Karen Wilhite, Houston, TX, Cheryl Langley, Lincoln, Ill., Stephene Reese.
