Socorro V. Granado, 59, of West Beech Street, Loving, NM, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Vigil is scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2015, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, January 6, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, New Mexico with Father Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Socorro V. Granado was born August 19, 1955 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Fidel S. and Carmen (Ruiz) Valdez. She enjoyed being with family and friends. Socorro liked to cook, play cards and listen to music. She also enjoyed going on cruises. Socorro loved to watch her grandchildren play sports. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Ruben Valdez and Raul Valdez. Survivors are children: Bonnie Granado and Oscar of Loving, NM, Oscar Granado, Jr. of Loving, NM, Chelsey Hernandez and Gio of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Kendra, Samantha, Oscar, III, Izayiha, Keyna, Reyna; sisters: Stella Saxton and husband, Phil of California, Grace Rios and husband, Manuel of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers: Mario Valdez and wife, Melanie of Albuquerque, NM, Salvador Valdez and Wife, Martina of Loving, NM, Fidel Valdez, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Lalo Valdez of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
