Sidney Blaine Humphrey

Sidney Carolyn Sue Blaine Humphrey, 76, departed this life on February 20, 2024, in Rio Rancho, NM.   Ms. Humphrey was born August 27, 1947, in Carlsbad, NM.  She was the eldest child of Royal Blaine, Sr. and Willie Shorter Blaine; her siblings, Shelagh Blaine Marzett and Royal Blaine Jr. (deceased).

Ms. Humphrey graduated from Carlsbad High School.  She received her BA from Eastern New Mexico University and her Masters from New Mexico State University.  Ms. Humphrey married Wallace A. Humphrey on September 27,1969.  He proceeded her in death.  They have one son, Izaak E. Humphrey.  Ms. Humphrey retired from the Carlsbad school system where she was a music teacher.   Ms. Humphrey was a baptized and lifelong member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she was the church organist.   

Sidney Blaine Humphrey leaves to mourn her son, Izaak E. Humphrey and wife, Henrietta Humphrey; two grandsons: Izaiah and Jeremiah Humphrey, and one granddaughter, Ava Humphrey; her sister, Shelagh Blaine Marzett (Leroy), nephew Desmond B. Marzett, nephew Shane D. Blaine (Laura), great niece Shayla Blaine, nephew Royal Traye Blaine, nieces Micah and Rachel Humphrey, and great nephews, Josiah Stearns and Jude Humphrey.  The family of deceased nephew Jermiane Minner, many other family and friends.  

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 1, 2024 at Carlsbad Cemetery with Rev. David McPherson officiating.
