Obituary Shelby Allyse Ridgway, 22, of Carlsbad slipped from this life into the arms of her Savior on December 4, 2019. A vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Shelby was born on December 31, 1996 to Lori B. (Phillips) and Mathew R. Ridgway in Carlsbad, NM. She attended and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2015. She worked as a Floral Designer at Albertsons Market and attended St. Edward Catholic Church. Shelby was a member of USAG for 7 years and competed as a decorated state and regional champion gymnast who qualified and participated in several national meets held all over the US. She enjoyed dance and was a 12-year cheerleading veteran, spending the last 4 years of her career as a member of the CHS Spirit Team. Her favorite activities were attending music festivals, traveling, painting, hiking and spending time in nature, going on long drives, and socializing with family and friends. She loved animals of any kind, especially her pets. Shelby was a bright and beautiful soul inside and out. Her presence, smile and warmth lit up a room and she could make anyone laugh with her personality and sense of humor. She was a natural talent at almost anything she chose to do. Love is the one word that fully describes Shelby. She loved fiercely. Whether it was her pets, her hobbies, or her family and many friends, it was complete and unconditional. She touched so many things and people with her kindness, generosity, love and light during the time we were all blessed to have her. Shelby has joined paternal grandfather Breco Robert Ridgway and maternal grandparents Billy Jack Phillips and Wanda Anita Blatsvich in our heavenly kingdom. She leaves behind parents, Mathew and Lori Ridgway, brothers: Colton and Garett Ridgway, all of Carlsbad; grandmother, Linda Ridgway of Dunlap, TN; aunts: Beverly Carmody and husband, Hal of Dunlap, TN, Robin Kizzire and husband, Ron of Green River, WY, Heather Luna and husband Michael, of Enterprise, AL, and uncle, Michael Phillips and wife, Rhonda of Carlsbad, NM, as well as numerous cousins and friends who are all longing to see her again one day.
