Sarah A. Kirby

Sarah Alyce Folsom Kirby of Carlsbad, New Mexico, age 77, passed away from natural causes on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Guadalupe Medical Center. 

She was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on February 21, 1946 to George Folsom and Juanita Statham Folsom of Carlsbad, NM.

Sarah was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma tribe. Before her retirement she was a home economics teacher at Carlsbad High School. In her later years, she enjoyed cooking and sewing in her spare time. Most importantly, Sarah was loved by her son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by her son, Aaron Kirby (Tina) of Sandy, UT, grandsons Garrett Kirby & Austin Kirby of Carlsbad, NM, and Great-grandchildren Garrett Kirby Jr, Ava Kirby, and Trustin Kirby of Carlsbad, NM. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, George and Juanita Folsom of Carlsbad, NM, her sister Georgia Vining and Georgia's husband, Jack Vining, both of Longview, TX.  

A family graveside service will be held at Carlsbad Cemetery on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. The viewing will be held at Denton Wood Funeral Home Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5-7 p.m.
