Sarah "Bambi" H. O'Daniel

Sarah H. "Bambi" O'Daniel, 77, of North Pate St., Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Lakeview Christian Home. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Nicheside Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Rod Hurst officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Sarah H. "Bambi" O'Daniel was born October 25, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida to Jessie LeRoy and Margaret (Ballard) Holcombe. She grew up in Florida and graduated for high school in Clearwater, Florida. Sarah married and moved to Gainesville, Florida and attended college. She had three children and was a mom and homemaker while working various part-time jobs. In 1979 she moved to Carlsbad and married Bill O'Daniel October 7, 1979. They enjoyed traveling together. Sarah was active in her church and enjoyed line dancing and being with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and daughter, Tina Lynn Grier. Survivors are two sons: Brian Steffey and Zeran of New York City, NY, Charles Calvin Reed and wife, Lisa of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren: Nathan Grier and wife, Dena, Shyra Wyatt and husband, Justin, Charles Reed, II, Tyler Reed; three great-grandchildren: Kristopher Wyatt, Jade Grier and Kittrick Wyatt.
