Obituary Samuel D. "Sam" Bradley, 94, of Avenue B, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Harden officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Samuel D. Sam Bradley was born December 7, 1923 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Tom and Tressie Bradley. He married Mildred Wright December 25, 1952 in Petrolia, Texas and settled in Carlsbad soon after. Sam contracted with Steere Tank Lines hauling petroleum products for 42 years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Sam was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1957 and actively served as a deacon since 1958. He had several hobbies, but dearest to his heart was serving the Lord. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leo Bradley; and sister, Edith Rushing. Survivors are his wife, Mildred Bradley of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sons: Larry Bradley and wife, Gwenette of Carlsbad, NM, and Dale Bradley of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Gaila Woodward of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Stephanie Eager, Tessa Bradley, Raeanne Bradley, and Cody Woodward; and 3 great-grandchildren Pallbearers will be Larry Bradley, Dale Bradley, Ronnie Biggs, Scott Reiner, Don Suggs, and Robert Jessee.
