Sam Offutt

Sam Offutt, 61, of E. Farris Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away November 28, 2010 at Lakeview Christian Home. There will be no visitation, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 12:00 PM, at Fox and Walnut Church of God with Pastor Daniel Mullins officiating. A Graveside Service will be held, at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Elida Cemetery in Elida, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Sam Offutt was born June 3, 1949 in Clovis, NM. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1967. Sam began working at Garrett's Auto and Mine Supply while in high school, where he worked for 19 years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He later worked for several auto dealerships in New Mexico most recently at Carlsbad Imports. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Faye Harris. Survivors include son, Chad Offutt and wife, Tammy of Carlsbad, NM; grandson, David Cudavack of Portales, NM; father, Samuel B. Offutt and wife, June of Portales, NM; brother, Jerry Offutt and wife, Judy of Moriarty, NM and several nieces and nephews.
