Ruth Pauline (Bond) Land

Visitation for Ruth Pauline (Bond) Land will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Carlsbad, NM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM under the direction of Denton-Wood Funeral Home of Carlsbad with her son, Rev. Randy C. Land of Carlsbad officiating. There will also be a service at the First Baptist Church Memphis, Texas at 11:00 AM CST Wednesday, April 12, 2017 where she resided for 30 years prior to moving to Brownfield, Texas in 2008 and then to Carlsbad, NM in January of 2010. Interment will follow at Rowe Cemetery at 2:30 PM in Hedley, Texas under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home of Memphis. Ruth was born in Grayson County, Texas on July 7, 1925 to Rev. W. E. and Cora Mae Bond. She graduated from Perryton High School in Perryton, Texas in 1943. Ruth passed away April 3, 2017 in Carlsbad. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zebbie Land on January 28, 2009 and her youngest son, Reg Land on January 31, 2015. Ruth was a housewife and mother who served as choral director, church secretary and organist or pianist in several churches in cities where they resided since their marriage in 1944. She is survived by two sons: Rick Land of Amarillo, Randy Land and wife, Candy of Carlsbad, NM; daughter-in-law, Jan Bruton Land of Dallas; two grandsons: Randall Zebulon "Zeb" Land and wife, Casci of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jonathan Land and wife, Shelby of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four great-grandchildren: Cayde Ward and Hadlee Land of Ft. Worth, Texas, Harper Land and Cora Land of Sioux Falls; one sister-in-law, Charly Ruth Bond of Prescott, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
